Thank you for taking the time to find out more about me. My name is Jesse and I’m currently based in Auckland, New Zealand.
I’m a Data Professional by trade, specialising in Data Governance, Management and Stewardship. As the world and its industries become borderless and increasingly competitive, the need for high-quality data has become more important than ever before. Additionally, it is not enough of a strategy to just collect data and call it “big data”. It is my role to ensure that we don’t fall into these traps and ensure that data can be used as a productive asset.
From a broader technology background, I’ve been making websites since I was thirteen. Across my early years, I picked up the basics like HTML, Javascript and PHP. During that time, I ran websites about the New Zealand Television and Radio industries where I posted random factoids and historical summaries. I ran these websites under various names until 2008 from which point I began to transition to a career in the data.
In 2017, I restarted my website as a landing page to support my LinkedIn profile and now in 2020, I have relaunched this domain as a full blog combining my professional career in Data and my interest in the entertainment industry. I also plan to use this page to support some non-commercial data-related projects that I’m working on.
